EDUCATION & ACADEMIC RESEARCH
My parents instilled the value of education at a young age and I am always exploring new subjects. It's so interesting to learn new tools whether it's through formal education, online courses, or personal networking. Huge fan of LinkedIn Learning!
I’d love the opportunity to talk to you about how my academic background could benefit you, so get in touch! I'm happy to share my research if you are interested in learning more.

MSc Behavioural Economics and Finance at the University of Exeter in England

Studied experimental and behavioural economics and finance. This degree studies the intersection of psychology, economics, and statistics to design economic experiments, study decision-making, and learn how to influence policies and procedures. I utilized STATA, R, and HTML code to run econometric analysis and financial forecasting.

The Effects of Social Identity on Online Altruistic Behavior
Awarded the Philip Norman Memorial Prize for economic excellence for my top-scored MSc Dissertation

I designed an online experiment to determine if one's gender identity impacted their willingness to donate to an email fundraising campaign, and if the gender identity of the charity's beneficiary (male/female) impacted one's willingness to donate. I utilized Qualtrics to collect 17,000+ data points, analyzed using STATA and R, and transformed results into charts and graphics to support behavioral economic insights and fundraising recommendations. My research found the charity beneficiary's gender in relation to the donor's gender had a significant impact on both the donor's rate of participation and the size of donation.

Macroeconomic Factors & Agricultural Price Fluctuation:
The Relationship between Global Growth and Wheat, Corn, Soybean, and Wine Prices

I conducted research to determine if macroeconomic growth factors have an effect on short term agricultural pricing. Crude oil : fine wine and crude oil : agricultural commodities have proven co-movement (meaning price fluctuations mimic each other) and both agricultural products and fine wine see similar demand growth in emerging economies, so I wanted to evaluate if there was any impact of global growth on commodity pricing. My model was a poor fit for traditional commodity prices, however emerging market growth and the US Dollar LIBOR-OIS 3 Month Spread (the delta between a risk-free interest rate and an interest rate with some risk built in) did serve as a main explanatory factor for the price of fine wine, accounting for up to 17.9% of prices.

BA Business Management at Washington College in Maryland
Magna Cum Laude

Studied Business Management at a liberal arts institution, which exposed me to psychology, comparative religion, and acting courses. I focused my major on Accounting and Finance, and minored in Economics. WC is a writing-intensive college and I learned to knock out papers in a short period of time. Fun fact - I actually started out as a Bio/Psych double major and planned to be a nurse before finding a love for Econ!

Shift Happens: The Rise of Women in American Business Leadership
Awarded the Business Capstone Experience Award for the best undergraduate business thesis
It has been the social norm for men to lead companies and hold significant decision-making roles, but with increased publicity of sexual bias incidents and stereotyping of female leaders society has pushed for the creation of initiatives tackling the lack of gender diversity across the top positions in American business today. I interviewed 14 leaders in American business to dive into the progress of women in corporate leadership roles using first-hand experiences of women who have climbed corporate ladders, became entrepreneurs, and have been held back on the basis of their gender. My thesis explores the historical problems of gender diversity, the progress of gender equity programming, the perception of these initiatives from the perspective of current and former leaders, and the shift of businesses towards the active empowerment of women.
